With an aim to outbid its competition, the Kia Sonet compact SUV is now offering the
luxury of a sunroof for under Rs 10 lakh. Kia India has announced that it will now offer
an electric sunroof in the Sonet’s Smartstream G1.2 HTK Plus variant, bringing the
luxury of a sunroof to its sub-Rs 10 lakh customers. The HTK Plus variant sits just two
points above the base HTE variant that costs Rs 7.79 lakh ex-showroom. The HTK Plus
variant has however, seen a slight increase in its ex-showroom price owing to the
feature addition. Here are the details.
The new Kia Sonet HTK Plus with sunroof has an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 9.76
lakh. The variant has seen a marginal increase of Rs 12,000 from its earlier price of Rs
9.64 lakh ex-showroom. Apart from the sunroof, the HTK Plus variant also features an
8-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 6-speaker audio system, fully automatic climate
control and auto headlamp on/off. The Smartstream G1.2 signifies that this variant of
the Sonet comes with Kia’s Smartstream 1.2-litre petrol engine, which produces 81.8
hp and 115 Nm of torque. However, the HTK Plus variant only offers the option of a
manual gearbox.
The Kia Sonet is among the most popular compact SUVs on sale in the country. It was
launched in 2020 and has seen consistent sales in the sub 4-metre segment since its
launch. Overall, Kia India has delivered over 3.3 lakh Sonet SUVs to customers since
its launch and plans to acquire more customers with the proposition of a sunroof in
one of its more affordable variant
